Project Manager- Utility

PROJECT MANAGER- UTILITY  

The Thrasher Group, Inc. has an immediate opening for an experienced Utility Engineer in our Charleston WV, Beckley WV, and Canton OH office locations. The selected candidate will be responsible for leading team members and work closely with Project Managers to execute the planning, engineering, design and project management in the areas of water, wastewater and stormwater infrastructure.

Essential duties & responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

  • Lead the evaluation and/ or support of existing service area utility assets, and develop corresponding recommendations for rehabilitation or replacement.
  • Lead and/or provide support in the design of the rehabilitation or replacement of water and wastewater pumping stations and treatment plant assets.
  • Lead and/or provide support for designs of neighborhood utility rehabilitation projects.
  • Coordinate and assist with environmental studies, permitting, alternatives analyses, and other technical deliverables.
  • Review the work of others and ensure high quality submittals meeting or exceeding Client expectations.
  • Provide support, guidance, and mentorship to junior staff.
  • Check performance or conformity with plans and specifications as part of engineering services during construction.
  • Assist with submittal reviews, requests for information, correspondence, change requests, and change orders for construction projects.
  • Conduct field work as necessary for various projects
  • Communicate effectively and coordinate with project teams including other departments

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor of Science in Civil, Environmental or related Engineering field is required
  • EI Certificate is preferred
  • 2-7 years of professional experience in study,
  • design and construction related to water and wastewater pipelines, pump stations, and other related facilities
  • Design experiences in stormwater treatment and conveyance systems a plus.
  • Strong Technical writing ability
  • Strong communication and time management skills
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Suite to include Word, Outlook, Project, Excel and PowerPoint is required
  • Proficiency in AutoCAD and Civil 3D a plus
  • Valid driver’s license
  • Ability to wear required safety equipment to include: hard hats, steel toed boots, vests, and any other applicable PPE
