The Thrasher Group is seeking a creative, energetic professional to join our Marketing/Business Development team as a Content Creator/Proposal Writer. The ideal candidate is enthusiastic, persuasive, and a quick learner. It will be your task to help show the value of Thrasher’s services, vision, and expertise to clients across various markets, including engineering, architecture, and field services.

As a Content Creator/Proposal Writer, you will be responsible for writing project proposals and marketing materials in an engaging, professional manner while adhering to the rules and conventions of language. The Content Creator/Proposal Writer will be a self-starter, able to carry out assignments with limited oversight in a timely manner. You must show a strong attention to detail and exemplary organizational, communication, critical thinking, and deductive reasoning skills. The Content Creator/Proposal Writer will foster a team environment while contributing as an independent team member.

Responsibilities

  • Complete all phases of the competitive Request for Proposal preparation process
  • Manage multiple projects with competing deadlines simultaneously
  • Work with project managers, technical staff, sub-consultants, and clients to develop proposals that meet the intent of the request
  • Create, organize, and maintain proposal content, records, and documentation

Essential Duties

  • Work with the Business Development Team & other Proposal Managers to redevelop/refine existing strategies, promotional material, and proposal processes to align with corporate goals and brand
  • Understand and communicate technical concepts and terminology related to civil engineering, architecture, survey, and construction practices to various audiences
  • Coordinate with project managers and technical staff on the development of written content
  • Assist in developing appropriate proposal strategy and persuasive messaging
  • Prepare and adhere to proposal outlines/checklists and production schedules
  • Write and edit/rewrite proposals to emphasize messaging and ensure consistency with corporate style standards
  • Write engaging promotional content
  • Create and maintain staff resumes and project experience sheets
  • Facilitate compliance review of proposals for accuracy, completeness per Request for Proposal requirements, and proper document formatting and layout according to corporate style standards
  • Assist in the development of strategy, messaging, and materials for presentations and project meetings
  • Establish and maintain cooperative working relationships with peers and management

Qualifications:

  • Degree in Journalism, English, Communications, Marketing, or closely related field.
  • Confident, articulate, and professional speaking abilities
  • Superior time-management and organizational skills
  • Mastery of punctuation, mechanics, grammar, word usage, and syntax
  • Ability to recognize the relevance of specific tasks in relationship to broader objectives
  • Minimum to intermediate skills in Adobe InDesign, Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint
  • Detail-oriented mindset in task completion, with the ability to prioritize assignments
  • Technical writing/editing experience is a plus
