Architecture + Design
This 38,000-square-foot Multispecialty Outpatient Clinic in Elkins, West Virginia, was developed for WVU Medicine and thoughtfully designed by The Thrasher Group to support a wide array of patient services in a modern, efficient environment. The WVU Medicine United Hospital Center’s Elkins Corridor Medical Center was built with flexibility and functionality in mind, featuring 34 exam rooms, two procedure rooms, and a dedicated cast room—each tailored to accommodate diverse clinical needs and streamline patient care.
A key highlight of the facility is its pharmaceutical segregated compounding suites, which were constructed to meet stringent USP guidelines for both hazardous and non-hazardous drug preparation. These specialized rooms support on-site infusion therapies and are optimized for extended 12-hour daily use, ensuring safe, compliant, and efficient medication handling. This integration of advanced pharmaceutical infrastructure within the outpatient setting reflects a commitment to delivering seamless, high-level care in a community-focused environment.
