Community-Focused Planning
The Doddridge County Athletic Complex is a state-of-the-art athletic campus, including three turf fields, an indoor training facility, and a multi-use building housing new locker rooms and Doddridge County Board of Education offices. The complex was the first of its kind in West Virginia, with the site directly beside the current high school providing elevated safety and convenience for students, families, and employees. The athletic campus brings additional benefit through economic development to the county by opening up the small, rural community to ample opportunities for health and fitness activity and providing space for local and state athletic events with flexible, all-weather facilities.
Award-Winning Design & Service
The Thrasher Group provided all architecture and engineering services on this athletic complex project, including site development, utility work, surveying, environmental permitting, and architectural design. The team transformed an undeveloped hillside into a 14-acre flat pad for the turfed football and baseball fields, one-of-a kind track, athletic locker rooms, and Board of Education offices. As challenging issues arose during the process, Thrasher’s expertise, paired with open communication and a strong relationship with Doddridge County leaders allowed the project to be unveiled at the opening home football game under the Friday night lights.
