Starting in July 2018, Rezin Hudkins at The Thrasher Group will offer customized training for pipe fusion through the McElroy University Program. Rezin is the only certified McElroy University instructor in the state of West Virginia and one of only a handful on the East Coast.

For more than 30 years, McElroy has been the only pipe fusion machine manufacturer to continuously offer advanced training. Course offerings are meant to enhance your efficiency, productivity, and safety in the proper use of McElroy Machines. McElroy classes are structured so that the skills learned and the machines used in each class closely match the machines found on pipelining job sites.

As a certified McElroy instructor, Rezin can offer training at a Thrasher location or at a client’s facility. Tuition for each course includes lunches, course materials, and a certificate of completion. McElroy University Operations Classes are conducted following guidelines established in ASTM F3190-16, Standard Practice for Heat Fusion Equipment (HFE) Operator Qualification on Polythylene (PE) Pipe and Fittings. Available courses include:

  • Small Diameter Operator Qualification OQ101
  • Mid-Range Diameter Operator Qualification OQ201
  • Large Diameter Operator Qualification OQ301
  • Fusion Inspector Training and Qualification OQ401
