A Reliable Partner for Complex Utility Needs
The Thrasher Group has proudly partnered with the Clarksburg Water Board (CWB) for over a decade. Throughout this long-standing relationship, we’ve delivered a wide range of engineering and technical services tailored to the Board’s evolving needs.

No matter the size or scope, we approach each project with the same commitment to quality and collaboration.
Critical Support for City-Wide Service Line Replacements
The Clarksburg Water Board is taking major steps to address lead contamination in its drinking water system. Many homes in the area were built in the early 1900s and still contain lead service lines. Aging pipes have the potential to contribute to elevated lead levels.
With the West Virginia Department of Health and Human Resources (DHHR) putting forth a plan that introduces measures necessary to keep the local drinking water safe, Thrasher was able to support the CWB throughout these efforts. Our team is designing the replacement of approximately 4,000 lead service lines—both utility- and customer-owned. We’re also upgrading nearly 59,000 linear feet of main water lines throughout the city.
Each of these efforts reflects our shared goal: to ensure safe, reliable water service for the Clarksburg community—today and well into the future.
Communications Professionals Who Understand Your Projects
At Thrasher, our commitment to clients goes beyond the average engineering consultant. We know that keeping the public informed is just as important as the technical work. That’s why our Public Relations and Communications team has stepped in to support the Clarksburg Water Board with a full range of outreach efforts. We’ve created clear, concise press releases, digital content, and physical materials to share timely and important updates. We’ve also built and manage a dedicated project webpage filled with project details, regular updates, and helpful resources.
In addition, we’ve designed flyers and visual materials that explain the situation in simple, easy-to-understand terms. These tools outline the steps being taken and show the progress made. But we didn’t stop there. We’ve helped organize public hearings and prepared informative presentations to guide those conversations. We’ve also developed talking points to ensure consistent messaging across all platforms.
Step by step, through regular communication and public engagement, we’re keeping the community informed, involved, and confident in the work being done – and helping our client build trust and a positive reputation.
Let’s discuss your project.
