Survey Division Launches Innovative Tool

Earlier this week, The Thrasher Group’s DOH Survey Department, part of the survey division,  was tasked to get cross-sections of the floor of the Guyandotte River in Barboursville, WV. Due to swift waters and windy conditions, they could not safely put an employee on a boat to get readings. The team thought out-of-the-box and launched a remote-control survey boat with sonar technology to safely gather info and generate cross sections from the surface of the river. This project is lead by Dave Vaughn, Brant Busdeker, Greg Goodwin (pictured above), and Austin Randolph.
